The varsity baseball team faced off against the Menlo-Atherton Bears on Wednesday, Apr. 6.
The Scots looked strong from the beginning of the game, and both teams scored two runs in the first few innings.
Things began to get exciting in the bottom of the fifth inning. Beginning with a single by William Baroncini, a senior student, the Scots loaded up the bases and were able to easily clear them, improving the score to 6-2.
However, things made a turn for the worse in the top of the seventh inning. Although the Scots lead 6-3, the Bears managed to come back and score seven runs, due to a number of fielding errors by the Scots.
In the Scots’ last chance at redeption in the bottom of the seventh, Colton Hicks, a senior student, hit his second home run of the season, but it wasn’t enought to take the game. The final score of the game was 7-10.
