WASHINGTON (8:15PM PST) – The White House announced that President Obama is making a late-night statement but is not announcing the topic that he will discuss. Officials say the statement could come as early as 10:30 PM (EDT) tonight.

CNN’s John King reported Sunday night, citing sources, that Osama Bin Laden, the man behind the Sept. 11 attack, has been killed and the U.S. is in possession of his body.

It is unclear how Osama bin Laden was killed and how the U.S. has his body. For a long time, officials believed bin Laden, the most wanted man in the world, was hiding somewhere in the mountains near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
