How to reduce global warming

Global warming has become one of the world’s biggest problems today.

Burning fossil fuels raises the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which creates the greenhouse effect and global warming.

The greenhouse effect is the enhancement of Earth’s natural gases by the addition of these gases from the burning of fossil fuels.

There are many ways our community and this school could make a difference.

Experts suggest that people use re-useable containers and bags and that people should recycle as much as possible.

Other suggestions include using less air conditioning, change light bulbs to compact fluorescent light bulbs, drive less, use energy-efficient products, and use less hot water.

Sophomore Rachel Schuster commented, “I think global warming is real and people are over reacting but there are things we can do to reduce our fossil fuel usage.”

Sophomore Courtney Heatherington stated, “Althought I don’t know if global warming is real, I would rather take life day by day rather than live in a constant state of fear for the future.”
