Men in tights on screen again

Comic Book superheros are making a come back in theaters.

The famed crime fighters in tights have been around for a long time, using their special talents to defeat the evils in the world while capturing the hearts of many kids.

Now grown up, the kids of the past want to share their love for superheros with their own children. However, in a more technologically advanced world, normal comic books seem dull and one-dimensional. “I prefer watching a movie to reading a comic book,” said Melinda Highton, a sophomore.

Marvel, a comic book company founded in 1939, has been producing new movies based on the superheros of the past. Movies like Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, and Fantastic Four have made millions at the box office.
Captain America was the first  Marvel comic superhero to be made into a film series in 1944. The next movie, created in 1990, was a Captain America remake.

The new Captain America started a trend of superhero action movie remakes that incorporated new technology.
When asked what her favorite Superhero movie was Highton replied, “Iron Man, his suit is super awesome, it shoots things.”

New superhero movies that are coming out in 2011 are Thor, X-Men: First Class, and Captain America: The First Avenger.
