Carlmont students dressed up for Halloween

Halloween was in the air on Monday, and so was a barrage of spirited costumes.

Hundreds of students came to school sporting their Halloween costumes, ranging anywhere from the typical girls dressed as cats, to ones that were much more original.

“One of my friends dressed up as a positive pregnancy test! What could be more scary than that?” commented Douglas Miller, a senior at Carlmont. There was also a sumo wrestler in a big blow-up suit, a whoopie cushion, a nun, a couple bananas, and a Mario running around campus yesterday.

In addition to a competitive costume contest in the quad, Carlmont’s beginners dance classes, taught by Ame Secrist, put on a showing of Thriller, complete with a Michael Jackson impersonator and plenty of zombies. The quad was packed full of students, with costumes and without, watching the performance and the other Halloween activities put on by Carlmont’s ASB.

The photos above show some of our very own Journalism members embracing the Halloween spirit, including Shannon Chang, Grace Chang, Miranda Santana, and Virginia O’Callahan. Grace Chang’s costume is especially creative, dressing up as a red Lego piece. Can you pick her out?

Halloween night was filled with enormous amounts of candy, awesome parties, and tons of fun, but is now over. We will have to wait until next year to dress up again. Hopefully we will be able to have more and  better costumes, if thats even possible.
