[media-credit id=52 align=”alignnone” width=”200″][/media-credit]Students and staff at Carlmont are signing up for the annual blood drive to be held on Thursday, Nov. 17.

Sign ups began on Tuesday, Nov. 1 and will continue until Thursday, Nov. 10. They are being taken in the quad at lunch.

Making its third appearance to Carlmont this year, the blood drive has had huge success in the past and looks to be even more successful this year.

“The blood drive itself on the 17th will take 30-45 minutes out of your day. We highly encourage people to participate and take advantage of this great opportunity,” said Bita Shahrvini, a sophomore ASB student helping to promote the blood drive.

There are age restrictions to this event. Only students who are age 16 and older can participate.

16- and 17-year-old students are required to fill out a parental permission slip in order to donate blood.

For 14- and 15-year-old students, keep your eye out for next year or the year after.

Carlmont Staff is also greatly encouraged to donate blood.

“When you donate blood you are saving a life. It’s that simple. That is why I encourage everyone to participate in the Blood Drive. There is nothing better than going home with the satisfaction of knowing you saved a life,” said Shahrvini.
