The wish of a lifetime

The wish of a lifetime

In our society, many believe that if they make a wish at the time 11:11, it will come true.

Since 11:11 is the only time in which all four digits are the same, there is a common belief that it is a “special” time in which what they ask for will come true.

The myth of why we wish at precisely 11:11 is untraceable, however, some believe that since 11 is a double-digit number, it is a Master or Power number.  In numerology, the number 11 represents a refinement of ideals, revelation, and impractical idealism.

The time 11:11 on Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 was believed to be an extremely lucky and special day, because all of its digits were “11.”

Some students saved their most important wishes for this once-in-a-lifetime day, especially this would not occur for another 100 years, in the year 2111.  “I made  the biggest wish of my life,” commented Shelby Nilson.

Other students didn’t take much notice to this day. “I completely forgot to make a wish at 11:11,” stated Brandon Butler.
