This Barbie pays tribute to Wilma Mankiller, the first female principal chief of the Cherokee Nation who advocated for Indigenous and human rights. Cherokee Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr. praised Mattel for this representation by emphasizing Barbie’s ability to ignite the limitless potential in girls, especially those from Indigenous communities.
