As Usher took the stage at halftime, children in Ethiopia and Sudan starved to death. As Americans stayed riveted to their screens on Sunday night, the world continues to churn on. Mass shootings occur, global warming still threatens species extinction, and Ukraine loses ground against Russia’s invasion. While football and other pastimes may be entertaining, we cannot let ourselves be blindsided by the travesties occurring around the world. (Shiyo Ohashi)
