Cartoon: Paris burns

In response to the cost of living and inflation, President Emmanuel Macron passed a law to raise the national retirement age from 62 to 64, leading to widespread unrest. Beginning on April 14 with the law’s passing, protests have erupted across the city. Garbage workers went on strike, causing piles of trash to line the streets, some of it set on fire, while the President refuses to take back the reform. (Shiyo Ohashi)
