Namibia is planning to kill 83 endangered desert elephants to feed its people – along with zebras, hippos, buffalo, impalas, and blue wildebeests, all adding up to 723 wild animals. The animals aren’t the only victims, however. One point four million people face food insecurity and more than half the country is in a hunger crisis. This is a result of global warming and the worst drought in decades. If we don’t take more action now to save our planet, Namibia won’t be the last country to butcher its animals. (Shiyo Ohashi)
