The threat of a major earthquake looms over the Bay Area, as scientists’ studies show that one is long overdue. Currently, the Hayward Fault presents the highest threat, with a chance to rupture in a 6.7 magnitude quake in the future. As such, California residents should prepare by checking their homes for potential hazards, such as items that can fall and cause injuries.
