Cartoon: The climate continues to change

With global warming still rising, the New York City Panel on Climate Change estimates sea levels around the city in the 2030s will continue to grow between half a foot and just over a foot. New York City (NYC) is not the only area affected by this climate crisis. The Climate and Energy Program at the Union of Concerned Scientists suggests that urban populations are the most vulnerable to climate impacts. NYC has planned to implement policies to protect its population from extreme events. However, many cities throughout the U.S. do not have the resources and budget that NYC does, forcing many to move further inland as a short-term method to avoid these weather catastrophes.
