Cartoon: The not-so-impossible reality of shooting forecasts

In light of an alarming string of gun violence incidents, the prospects of a safe and peaceful new year have dissipated. Numerous gun regulation laws, both proposed and passed, are longstanding subjects of controversy. Still, the Second Amendment and culture of gun possession in America are fundamentals that prevent the stricter curbing of gun violence. The consolidation of numerous shootings in one month brings into question whether we want to progress toward a reality in which gun violence is a thing of the past or that it becomes so familiar that shootings get treated to be as inevitable as the changes in weather.
