Diary of a Wimpy Kid two preview

The movie Rodrick Rules continues the story of an awkward middle school-er learning to deal with all of the problems related to growing up.

The movie is adapted from Jeff Kinney’s illustrated novel series Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Rodrick Rules is the sequel to the first Dairy of a Wimpy Kid movie that came out Mar. 19, 2010.

Unlike the first movie, where the main character, Greg tried desperately to gain popularity, Rodrick Rules emphasizes the the struggles in Greg’s home life.

Now entering the 7th grade, Greg believes that despite his undersized physique, he is now a grown man, and can therefore do whatever he wants.

However, Greg’s mother has a different plan. Through ludicrous programs such as “swear jars” and “mom bucks,”  Greg’s mom is taking parenting to the next level.

Robert Capron, who plays Rowley, Greg’s best friend, described in a interview that the second movie will also feature a love interest for Greg. “One of the main plot lines of the second Diary of a Wimpy Kid is that Greg is insane about her [new girl Holly] and he has to like get her to like him,” said Capron.

Poking fun at the years we try so hard to forget, Diary of a Wimpy Kid will remind us of what it was like to be a kid.
