Fashion is a way that someone can express themselves. At Carlmont, there is a wide variety of fashion from comfortable sporty to classy chic. The most common styles however, seem to be comfy, boho or bohemian, hipster, vintage and rocker chic.
A persons style is unique, it’s something that people can add spice to, while making it their own thing and be confident in the outfit. Haley Ivers, a Carlmont student, said, “My style is unique because I don’t stick to one kind of style, I like mixing it up and wearing clothes not many people own and wear.”
Some people don’t really “try” for school because, well, it’s school and like parents say, its not a fashion show.
So when should people actually try in their outfits and put an effort into it? Crystal Cortez, a Carlmont sophomore, stated, “I only really try when im going out to dinner with family or friends or going to party, that’s when I try to look good, but for school I don’t try because I have no one to impress.”
Shopping is where the magic begins, and finding the right store that fits your style is key. Stores such as Nordstroms, Nordstroms Rack, Forever 21, H&M, Urban Outfitters, Guess and Thrift stores seem to be the favored stores here at Carlmont.
Accessorize, accessorize and accessorize! Accessories makes the outfit, sort of like icing on the cake. Kimberly Bean, another junior student, said, “I love rings, earrings, and scarfs.” These are accessories that can make a simple outfit THE outfit.
