October brings around Halloween, and what is Halloween without Carlmont’s spirited Hallo-Week?

This year, ASB’s freshman officers planned a week full of fun and spooky activities. On Monday, freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors lined up for face paint in the quad before school and during lunch. On Tuesday, a spin the wheel trick or treat was set up, where students could get candy. Wednesday featured a bake sale with delectable orange muffins and other baked goods, all for $1. Thursday students could pay $2 to decorate and take home Halloween-themed slime. The week culminated in a fright night exclusively for freshmen on Friday night.

“ASB and the class of leadership organizing Hallo-week was super fun,” said freshman class president Ryan Kung “We had new themes every day and amazing support from our Scots.”

Kung is not the only one who had a lot of fun.

“Everything going on this week looks so exciting, and I think it’s really cool,” said freshman Carolina Miyazono.

Some students even expressed disappointment at not being able to experience the week at its fullest.

“I wish I could have gone to fright night, I would’ve loved that. This week I walked down to the quad sometimes just to see what was up. I think the spin the wheel was nice,” said Austyn Lee-Meinzter, a sophomore.

In the past, ASB also organized In It To Win It, Neon Night, ice cream socials, and various themed dressing days, which many people throughout the school participated in and thoroughly enjoyed. Last year, they held a Christmas spirit week, which included pajama day, ugly sweater day, and gingerbread house decorating. ASB is sure to plan more events for the holiday season and beyond.

“With the energy and fun from this year, we are thinking of possibly doing more events like it, and something that’ll get people in the jolly spirit,” Kung said.
