Where’s your I.D.?

Wheres your I.D.?

When Carlmont students returned for the new school year, the administration changed it’s I.D. policy so students are no longer required to wear them at all times.

Although Carlmont are no longer required to have their I.D. attached to a lanyard around their neck, students must bring their I.D.’s to school and be able to present it when asked by a school official. Students will also be required to wear their I.D. in the main office and in the library.

“It would be nice if you had it, but I’m not going to ‘police’ it,” commented Ralph Crame, Carlmont’s Administrative Vice Principal.

Although the I.D. policy is no longer enforced in the hallways, in the classrooms, it varies from teacher to teacher. “Currently, none of my teachers make us wear our I.D.’s in class, but I always bring mine to school,” said Marcus Fukuhara, a Carlmont student. “I love how we don’t have to wear them in the hallways anymore.”

“It’s a lot more convenient for everyone to not have to worry about having their I.D.’s out and on,” added Amelia Tupou, another Carlmont student.

According to Justin Raisner, Governance Council Chair, formal policy statements will be issued concerning the I.D. policy in the near future.
