Review: Godfather’s Burger Lounge

Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Godfather’s  Burger Lounge was named “Best of the Bay” by Kron 4 for a good reason.

With overloaded half-pound burgers and an exquisite array of sauces and sides, locals swarm to the Hollywood themed restaurant at the corner of Harbor and El Camino.
The amiable staff and good service complements the perfectly prepared burgers.
After eating a platter of the various appetizers, the sweet potato fries with a sprinkle of cinnamon were to die for and the flaming hot chicken wings were excellent but definitely not for the faint hearted. The fried calamari was nothing special, but pairing it with their spicy  cocktail sauce gave it an extra kick.
Moving on to the 1/2 pound burgers, I ordered their signature “untouchable” burger which consisted of jalepeños, pepper jack cheese, a special chipotle sauce and other peppers. It does brin a strong kick but definitely worth trying for anyone with at least a small taste for spice.
We finished with an Oreo cookie sundae, which literally contained Oreos in a heap of ice cream. They aren’t known for their desert but either this sundae or the chocolate brownie decadence is a good way to finish off your meal.
The only issue  was that the limited seating capacity and waiting space gives a slightly crowded feel and make reservations a mus.
Disregarding that trivial complexity, Godfather’s can easily go toe to toe with any burger joint around.
