Holiday grams spread holiday cheer

During the past week, holiday grams have been on sale for students to give a message card and candy cane to peers.

“I’m excited to see if anyone gives me a holiday gram in class or not,” said senior Nava Dallal.

Holiday grams are a great way to show your friends and teachers how much students care.

With each holiday gram, a personalized message can be written on both the back and front of the light blue card, which features a snowman on the front and a speak bubble.

“I wrote ‘Merry Christmas. I love you very much’ on my card to my best friend,” said Yasmine Yavari.

Not only can the holiday gram become a personal note, but a single candy cane will also be attached to the gram.

Some students have decided to show appreciation to their teachers by sending them holiday grams as well.

“I got a very funny holiday gram from my sixth period class,” commented Karen Ramroth, a Government teacher at Carlmont.

The holiday grams remind students of the candy canes given out in the movie Mean Girls. The famous scene with the quotations “You go Glen Coco!” and “And none for Gretchen Wieners” are common jokes that tie into the holiday grams.

The holiday cheer of holiday grams was delivered to students in their fourth period classes on Thursday, December 13, 2012.

A sweet gift before long road of studying for finals begins.
