One of the most important dates for all high school seniors is May 1, because it is National Decision Day, also known as the day that any senior has to commit to a college, unless they are waiting to get off the waitlist. “I feel so relieved. It was so stressful for months and just the fact that I have a path for the future, is really satisfying,” said Adrian Harris, a senior. Picking a college is very intense and once everything is finalized, students can finally get in the mode to get excited about graduating high school.

Earth Day is a celebrated all around the world on April 22, and Carlmont decided to cherish the place we live by decorating round chips of wood with Sharpies. “They are beautiful designs that you can take home with you and enjoy when you are maybe having a hard time at home. It is also a way to support the Venture Free Foundation,” said Neil Covington, a junior. Students who made these crafts had the opportunity to also decorate a cupcake with Earth Day themed decorations.

On Friday, May 3, Carlmont students signed up and donated blood in the Student Union for the school’s second blood drive of the year which was hosted by the Red Cross. “I donated blood because it is for a really good cause. You get to help save 3 three lives for every pint and after you are done, you get some ice cream, so that is pretty Gucci,” said Griffin Soelberg, a junior. After all, helping out those in need goes a long way for others overtime, especially since there were exactly 84 students who participated in this process throughout the whole school day.

The festival has a total of eight scenes and there is an intermission half way through the show.
