Halloween Haunt comes to an end

[Grégoire Lannoy] Happy Halloween
For the past month, students have been visiting the Halloween Haunt at Great America to get into the Halloween spirit by being scared by costumed workers.

The Halloween Haunt was held every weekend from Sept. 28 until Oct. 28. The Halloween Haunt at Great America is an annual event that attracts people of all ages looking for a scary and fun way to celebrate Halloween.

According to Emma Lin, a Carlmont sophomore, there are people hidden who jump out and scare people, and sometimes even chase them. Along with all the scary workers there are also performers around the park singing and dancing.

One of the reasons students enjoy going to the Haunt is the scare factor.

Lin said, “I always go because I want to be scared and it’s awesome. My favorite part is the haunted house because it’s the scariest, and everyone just looks scary.”

Although many students like being frightened and the surprise the Haunt has to offer some students find it too scary to even go.

Mackenna Galicia, a Carlmont sophomore, said, “I’ve never gone and I don’t think I ever will  because I don’t want to be chased and scared by random strangers who look like they want to kill me.”

The biggest downside to the Haunt is the extra long lines at all the Great America rides.

“The lines were ridiculously long, I waited in one line for an hour and a half, that was definitely the worst part,” stated Lin.

The lines can be unruly, but for those patient people who want a good scare and some Halloween fun, Great America’s Halloween Haunt is the perfect place to go next September.
