Black Spot
Black spot is a disease that most commonly affects roses, but it can also occur on other ornamental and garden plants. On the upper sides of the leaves, this disease causes black, circular dots.
Lower leaves are frequently the first to become affected. Infested leaves turn yellow and fall off the plant in severe infestations.
When the weather is wet for an extended period of time or when leaves have been drenched for 6 hours or more, black spot develops.
Black spot can be controlled in numerous ways, like planting plants in soil that drains properly, using regular organic fertilizer, removing dead leaves or infected canes from the area, applying water directly to roots instead of spraying, and keeping diseased plants out of the compost.Â
