ASB election results revealed

Carlmont’s student elections were held during the week of March 1. Interviews with the elected class officers for the upcoming school year of 2011-12 are listed below:

ASB President: Kelly Robinson

ASB Vice President: Kristi Tom

What changes do you want to make as ASB vice president? I definitely want to increase school spirit and make next year more awesome.

Do you play any sports at Carlmont? Not at Carlmont, but I ice-skate and dance in my spare time.

Are you a part of any Carlmont clubs? I’m in the Asian American club and Screamin’ Scots.

Have you ever been a position in a school election before? Yes, in elementary school I was treasurer and I was elected Vice President my sophomore year.

What is your favorite food? Chocolate and ice cream.

What is your favorite school subject? Lunch.

What hobbies do you have? In my spare time I like to dance, ice skate, eat, and hang out with my friends.

What type of career do you want to pursue? Definitely something awesome.

Senior President: Jack Karasky

What changes do you want to make as Senior President? I want to make school more fun.

What is your GPA? 3.67

Do you play any sports at Carlmont? Yeah, I play quarterback on the football team.

What is your favorite food? Chinese Food.

What is your favorite school subject? I would say history.

What hobbies do you have? Mostly hanging out with my friends.

What type of career do you want to pursue? Something involving history.

Senior Vice President: Cindy Bayasgalan

What changes do you want to make as Senior Vice President? I want to make our school more spirited especially for seniors to have a fun year.

Are you a part of any Carlmont clubs? Yes, I am. I’m a member of CSF and the Asian American club.

Have you ever been elected a position in office in a school election before? No, this is my first time running for anything.

Do you play any sports at Carlmont? Yeah, I’m a member of the swim team.

What is your favorite food? I would say my favorite food is Italian.

What is your favorite school subject? Physics is my favorite.

What type of career do you want to pursue? I want to do something in the medical field.

Senior Secretary: Nathan Galicia

What changes do you want to make as Senior Secretary? Mainly influencing the incoming high-schoolers to become active in the Carlmont community.

What is your GPA? 4.33

Are you a part of any Carlmont clubs? Yeah I’m in the Asian American club, CSF, the robotics team, and the Urban Beat club.

Have you ever been elected a position in office in school before? Yes I was elected vice president my freshman year and secretary my junior year.

What is your favorite food? Chinese food, especially dim sum.

What is your favorite school subject? Jazz Band

What hobbies do you have? I have a lot. I like to play the piano, play the saxophone, martial arts and Tricking. Tricking is a type of martial arts.

What type of career do you want to pursue? Medical Research.

Junior President: Luke Li

Junior Vice President: Monica Chin

What changes do you want to make as Junior Vice President? I want to pump up the school spirit here.

What is your GPA? 4.5

Do you play any sports at Carlmont? Yeah I play volleyball. My position is mainly back row.

What is your favorite school subject? English

What hobbies do you have? I like to read and hang out with my friends.

What type of career do you want to pursue? I’m not sure yet but I’m keeping my options open.

Junior Secretary: Kayla Tabari

What changes do you want to make as Junior Secretary? I want to make things around campus more efficient.

What is your GPA? 3.99

Do you play any sports at Carlmont? Not any sports but I do theater. I’ve been performing since I was five.

Are you a part of any Carlmont clubs? I am a member of the Beach Volleyball club and Screamin’ Scots.

Have you ever been elected a position in office in school before? Yeah. I’ve been secretary for the last four years, including middle school.

What is your favorite food? Any dessert.

What is your favorite school subject? English.

What hobbies do you have? I love theater and i like to dance.

What type of career do you want to pursue? I want to be an anesthesiologist.

Sophomore President: Reggie Chatman

What changes do you want to make as Sophomore President? I want to increase school spirit and make classes more fun.

Do you play any sports at Carlmont? Yeah, I’m on the soccer team.

Have you ever been elected a position in office in school before? Yeah, I was elected president at Ralston [Middle School] and now I’m Sophomore President.

What is your favorite food? Seafood.

What is your favorite school subject? P.E.

What hobbies do you have? I enjoy sports in general.

What type of career do you want to pursue? I want to be a sports doctor or a caster.

Sophomore Vice President: Claire Porter

What changes do you want to make as Sophomore Vice President? I want to make Carlmont more eco-friendly and create more school spirit.
