Carlmont Choir’s first performance in the 2013-2014 season, “Passport To Adventure,” will feature songs ranging from Nicki Minaj to The Lord of the Rings.

The annual Pops benefit performance will take place on Friday, Oct. 18th and Saturday, Oct. 19th at 7 p.m. at the Carlmont Preforming Arts Center.

Tickets will be $25 online or at the door. All proceeds will fund the Carlmont Choir for the whole year. The money will help pay for sheet music, costume rentals, and the choir tour down to L.A. to compete in choir competitions. The choir will also be selling homemade baked goods during intermission to raise additional funds.

The concert will consist of six different singing groups and about 20 songs. “This concert has more modern pop music,” explained senior Danielle Bickel. “We will sing more tunes people know.”

“We will be singing songs from the movies Up, Brave, The Lord of the Rings, Newsies, and Alice in Wonderland,” stated sophomore Pyper Hayden.

Bickel also revealed that, “There will be an audience sing-along to the last number.”

“It’s fun for every age to see our show” sophomore Shama Zalavadia stated.

Tickets can be purchased at  www.carlmontperformingarts.com

The concert is a way to support the choir program and have a fun time.
