Many Carlmont students obtain driver’s licenses during high school, which leads to the formation of carpooling groups. This can be a source of tension between parents and their teens, as students’ have desire to grow up and be independent. Many teens do not follow the law which prohibits students from driving non-family members under the age 20 within a year of getting their license, which poses the question of whether or not the law is relevant in this day in age.
