Cartoon: A gateway to global connections

An art installation in New York City connects viewers to others in Dublin, Ireland, nearly 3,000 miles away. P0rtal, or “the Portal,” is sponsored by the Flatiron NoMad Partnership, the New York City Department of Transportation’s Art Program, and the Simons Foundation. The unfiltered and live content allows for refreshing interactions, whether a simple hello, a wave back home, or even rude gestures. These displays are intended to bring people together, regardless of geographical limits. The portals continue to inspire the message of a united planet. (Skylin Lui)
