Cartoon: Adoption scams in South Korea

Adoption firms in South Korea were given profit incentives to promote overseas adoptions, leading them to falsify documents. This was done without the birth parents’ knowledge and many unwed mothers were also coerced into signing away their rights. The South Korean government and adoption firms should take accountability for their unethical history and make amends with affected families. (Emma Yin)
