Cartoon: Gender roles prevail

The gender role gap in cooking appeared to have diminished during the pandemic years. However, a recent survey reveals that this gap has widened. Women cook nearly nine meals per week, while men are only responsible for four. The reversal of progress in gender roles, particularly in an important life skill such as cooking, is concerning. It is crucial that we aim for an equitable distribution of household chores and actively work to eliminate traditional gender roles in the modern push for equality. (Emma Yin)
