Cartoon: Helping through the screen

Many people may want to donate to support humanitarian aid in Gaza in the ongoing Isreal-Hamas war but do not have the funds. TikTok creators are providing a new way to help by monetizing their videos and putting money earned towards aid. For every thousand likes, creators receive 2-4 cents, which can add up quickly as videos garner millions of views. This method of raising money doubles its effectiveness as it educates people on the conflict at the same time. (Shiyo Ohashi)
