Cartoon: Solar Savior

Renewable sources sustainably met 99.87% of California’s energy needs for a brief period of two minutes on Saturday, April 30th, breaking the previous record of 81% in 2020. The bulk of the power came from solar energy. While admittedly short-lived, the moment shows that a fully renewable-energy-powered California is very possible and may be closer than many anticipate.
