Cartoon: The FDA needs to ban Red No. 3 in food

California has become the first state to ban Red No. 3 food dye in food. Red No. 3 is currently deemed edible by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) but banned in lipstick and other cosmetics. Makeup is not consumable, yet the FDA still allows the dye to be present in food. The FDA should change its standards so that people are not eating the same chemicals banned in cosmetics. (Emma Yin)
