Delizie is delicious

Although surrounded by many Italian and Mediterranean style restaurants, Delizie is the most authentic and delicious Italian restaurant that San Carlos Avenue has to offer.

Located at 1107 San Carlos Ave., Delizie is a medium-sized restaurant with tasteful decor, relaxing music, and delicious, authentic Italian food.

For an appetizer, I ordered the Frittura di Calamari and was pleasantly surprised because it was most likely the best calamari I have ever tasted. The squid was not too crunchy, not too moist, and the dip sauce was very unique.

The menu has many different kinds of delicious pasta dishes served with pomodoro, white wine, meat, and tomato cream sauce. I opted for the Fusilli Alla Calabrese, which had calabrese sausage, chili peppers, spices, and pomodoro sauce. It was the most unique, and surprisingly spicy, pasta dish I have ever tasted.

Aside from pasta dishes, there are dishes of chicken, salmon, beef, cod, and scallops. They are each cooked with Delizie’s signature red wine sauce. For dessert, tiramisu, souffle, and cream cakes are offered.

The serving staff was very entertaining, friendly, and flexible to complex orders.

The only complication with Delizie was that the pricing could be considered abnormally high for a typical high school student. Even though the pricing matches the extravagant food, Delizie wouldn’t seem the like a place for a crowd of students to have dinner.

If one is looking for a fancy night out, and a delicious Italian dinner, Delizie will not disappoint.
