Everything Coachella 2014

One of the most famous music festivals of the year is coming up on April 11 through 18 and April 18 through 20. Coachella is a highly anticipated two-weekend, three-day indie music festival established by Paul Tollett of AEG Live.
Every year the festival is held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, Calif. Music lovers from all over attend the festival staying at local hotels, and some even camp at the venue.

Camping is allowed for around $85 for a pass, which includes its own entrances to and from the festival and it avoids the traffic of the big hotels. A “campground resident DJ” is also available in the activity tent between the hours of 11:30 p.m. and 1:30 a.m. for the entertainment of those who camp overnight.
The Neon Carnival is another feature included at the music festival. It is complete with various rides such as “Super Shot” and bumper cars. Another notable ride is the 150 foot trademark ferris wheel at the venue. Tickets are around $8 for the ride, and the height of the wheel provides the highest vantage point to view the entire festival in action.
Other carnival activities are available as well. These activities include relay races, pie eating contests, and a three legged race. To fit the vibe of the overall festival, activities such as yoga, silent dance parties, and massages are available as well.
Despite the many other attractions featured at the venue, the main thing that pulls in the audiences is the music. Past performers have included some of the most famous names in entertainment such as Jay-Z, the Beastie Boys, and the Foo Fighters. This year the lineup includes performances by Lana Del Rey, Pharrell Williams, and Ellie Goulding.
As at any music festival, there is always the option to spend money. Coachella features stores that sell unique items, which add to the indie vibe the festival produces. The vinyl emporium offers a unique selection of records available for sale, from used LP’s, 45’s and more. The Coachella boutique is another store on site that provides a unique selection of art, clothing, and other collectibles. Many other individual vendors come as well, all of which well their own goods.
Many celebrities attend the event as well. Katy Perry, Vanessa Hudgens, and Alessandra Ambroiso were among some of the most notable celebrity attendees of the 2013 show. With over 90,000 people attending the festival, it is no wonder it has turned into such an event.
Coachella has gotten an overwhelmingly positive review on Yelp and other review sites. With the large selection of activities, music, and overall entertainment, Coachella 2014 has a lot of expectation to go along with it.
