How to Survive High School Day 11: Balance Out Your Life

Track practice ‘till 6:30. Dinner at 7. Shower at 7:45, then finally homework. At 8. Freshman year was killing me.

By the time I got home every night from practice, finished my homework and ate dinner, I was going to bed around midnight every night. That gave me only seven hours of sleep every night. I quickly became sleep deprived and surely, my grades started to drop.

Don’t make the same mistake I did freshman year. Enjoy yourself a little and have fun. Find a way to balance out your life. Keep your grades steady and have fun at the same time.

Get organized. If studying for hours on end isn’t your thing, try taking 10 minute breaks every hour and do something relaxing. Hang out with friends, read a chapter from your favorite book, or hold a Just Dance competition with your sister.

In the end, how you divide your time is up to you, just make a game plan that works and go with it.
