Cartoon: AI digitizes relationships in teens

Teens feel lonelier than ever in a new world of online chatting, but not because of the lack of physical interaction. In recent years, interactivity with A.I. robots and chatbots has increased interaction with the rise of these digital friends, negatively affecting young adults seeking connection. Research shows that teens are developing an ever-growing dependence on chatbots due to the emotional comfort and praise that many provide, creating ‘fake relationships’ with these programmed robots. As new developments in A.I. are continuously being made, there is concern about how A.I. will affect future teenage relationships.
