Cartoon: Big city, big crisis

New York City has a law that requires them to provide a bed to any homeless person who asks. However, they also have a 30-day limit on that bed. Once 30 days is up, the homeless of New York are once again turned to the streets and have to take a number to find a place to sleep again. The number of people without proper shelter at night is now up to the 1,700s. We need to start treating the homeless as people like ourselves–who just deserve food, water, and proper shelter.
