Disney has recently sued Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over his increasingly restrictive, “Disney-specific” legislation. Starting even earlier than last year’s “Don’t say gay” bill, this feud between DeSantis and Disney has finally culminated in the company suing the state of Florida for infringement of free speech rights. This is bound to be an interesting legal battle, as Disney has historically been able to get its way with bending legality– even changing copyright law to keep their iron grip on their rights to Mickey Mouse. However, Disney’s army of lawyers won’t have to work too hard to win this one, as DeSantis’s mildly unconstitutional actions reek of personal vendetta against the company. (Tymofiy Kornyeyev)
