The iconic Redwood City sign stands proudly on Broadway. This sign, seen in many areas across downtown, features the slogan "Climate Best by Government Test," created in 1925 during a contest to sum up Redwood City's charms in a slogan. One of the contest organizers claimed there are only three areas in the world with perfect weather: the Canary Islands, North Africa's Mediterranean Coast, and Redwood City, and a government test backed it up.
