Village Host is a great place to eat out at with friends for pizza, especially for Carlmont students. Their food is delicious and among the cheapest in Carlmont Village.

The average price for a Village Host small-size pizza is $14.60, while Avanti Pizza’s small-size costs roughly $20.72, and Vivace Ristorante’s $20.50.

On top of that, it tastes fantastic.

“I would not think that these ingredients could go well together, but this tastes great,” sophomore Tess Rickson said.

The ingredients are present in equal measure, creating a balanced yet rich flavor. The dough is crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside.

Village Host utilizes toppings such as bell peppers in their pizza.

Meanwhile, Avanti Pizza, has bigger sizes, but the pizza is mainly dough and cheese. The defining flavor comes from those two components, and the toppings come in as a final touch — like a signature on a painting.

“The dough goes very well with all the other ingredients, bringing the whole thing together,” said sophomore Maya Henry.

At Vivace Ristorante, the softness of the dough can be compared to a freshly-baked bagel.

Village Host is open every day from 11 a.m. till as late as 10 p.m.; on Sundays they start at 12 a.m. and end at 9 p.m. This schedule is very convenient for planning outings, and students can go there right after school.

Vivace’s and Avanti’s working hours are a bit difficult to work around. Vivace Ristorante is closed until 5 p.m. after school, and Avanti is not open on Mondays.

Out of all three, Village Host has the most fitting space — it’s chill with two TVs, slot machines, and plenty of room. You can often see people of different age groups chat and laugh together.

Avanti has a cozier atmosphere; however, there are not that many tables, so the chance that it will be packed up is higher. Meanwhile, Vivace is too fancy for hanging out with friends. The restaurant is definitely a place for formal meetings and celebrations, but not goofing around and having fun.

So, next time you decide to hang out with your friends at Carlmont Village, go to Village Host. It is guaranteed you will have great bonding time over fancy restaurant-quality pizza at a favorable price.
