Cartoon: Sharing is caring

Netflix has recently publicized its plans to end password sharing to crack down on those who don’t pay for their account. The incoming measures include requiring all devices used for streaming to connect to a “home network” at least once every 31 days. Many on social media have pointed out issues with this policy, such as its vague definition of a “primary location” and “home wifi.” Another problem arises for those unable to connect to singular wifi for an extended period, as their devices will be permanently locked out of their accounts. This new policy could potentially harm genuine subscribers, not just those using someone else’s password.
