Each weekday, 12 students don’t make it home from school. These students are shot to death on school grounds. With reports of new school shootings increasing in frequency, many American parents and students have experienced anxiety over this life-threatening matter. This may cause students to refuse to go to school, parents to consider distance learning or homeschooling, and teachers to think about changing careers. School shootings shouldn’t be something American families and teachers have to worry about. Not coming home from school should not be the American reality. [Emma Yin]
