The Colorado Fire, named for its origins in the Palo Colorado Canyon area of Big Sur in Monterey, is marked as the first major forest fire incident of 2022 by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Strong winds have allowed the fire to scorch over 700 acres, but it is now almost fully contained. (Andrew Shu)
