Anoushka Swaminathan (class of 2027) is a first-year writer for Scot Scoop. They are very interested in policy and politics, and intend to someday work in economic or social policy. As part of Scot Scoop, they hope to develop their journalistic writing abilities and become more involved with local news. Outside of classes, Anoushka is president of Carlmont’s Asian History Club, treasurer for Carlmont’s Civic Leaders of America chapter, and part of the Youth in Policy Institute. In their free time, they love creative writing and editing, dancing, and rewatching NBC’s Community.

Many young people love to write. It begins on pen and paper in their rooms, but it can grow to much more, including publications and winning awards.
