  • Before the meet begins, senior Lukas Kelly rallies the team with a cheer.

  • Sophomores Cameron Ho and Josh Camerino encourage the team with loud cheers and fist pumps. "GO SCOTS" is written on their chests with zinc sunscreen, which lasts in the water. Camerino said, "This meet was a great show of sportsmanship and spirit. Our goal for this season is just to work as hard as we can and become PAL champions."

  • Ho slaps his hands on the water and yells in celebration of Carlmont's win in the girls 4x100 freestyle relay.

  • Senior Alex Chan starts his race with a quick dive, which gives him an advantage over his competition. "We have been working a lot harder in practice, and I think that showed in this meet. We're ready to win PALs," said Chan.

  • Junior Kurt Castro comes up for a breath of air in between butterfly strokes.

  • Freshmen Leon Tan and Nicholas Chao rest their hands on their knees and try to get their breath back after vigorously swimming in a race.

  • Junior Hana Wong cries on the shoulder of junior Megan Tao after not qualifying for CCS. In swimming, individual swimmers must qualify rather than the team as a whole. "It was frustrating," said Wong.

  • Freshmen Jade Margolis and Karen Li rest and try to keep warm while they wait for their race to begin.

  • After completing their race, Ho gives the San Mateo opponent a fist bump in a show of sportsmanship.

  • Coach Jim Kelly and Chan discuss Chan's previous race. Chan animatedly describes what happened and how he won.

  • Freshman Amy Fullerton holds hands with freshman Mackenna Vickery after Vickery finishes her race.

  • Wong, junior Enzo Llorach, junior Alejandro Aguirre, and Camerino show support for their fellow teammates. Camerino is holding a lap counter, which lets the swimmer know what lap he is on.
