“Carlmont soccer practices have a very comfortable, and hard working atmosphere. During practice we work on everything from conditions to formation, offense, and defense. The team has a pretty good connection which allows us to play as best we can,” Payton Smith.
“Time wise we go 330-530 sometimes we will go to 6 if we are watching film. Most of the time we do a warm up and then we will do a few drills that focus on something we need to improve on, finally we will end practice with a scrimmage or a small sided game,” said Tina Smith.
“The pace is a lot slower than club, but we get through a lot of different things. We usually do drills based around things that we need to work on based off pervious games. The dynamic is interesting with the team because you get a lot of different people having different thoughts about how competitive the sport should be,” Lauren Racioppi
“I think one of the reasons we are one of the more dominant teams in our league is because on top of having fun, we get a lot done in practice. This includes drills that help each specific position develop, and ones that create unity in our team as a whole,” Soha Said.
“Carlmont practice is fun because you become close with your teammates, and help each other improve,” Siena Rigatuso. (Junior Varsity forward)
“Practices are always challenging. we do all different types of drills to work on any part of the game that we feel needs improving. We do drills that work on everything from our touch, runs, communication, and change of pace/direction. Our successes go farther than our record. The team is so hard working, dedicated, and motivated to do things as a cohesive unit, and that why I’ve been apart of the program for four years,” said Veronica Pontis.
“Our practices benefit the team because we work on our mistakes we have made in past games. The team is very supportive, and has an overall good atmosphere,” said Chelsy Sesma.
