On Jan. 20, Carlmont’s boys varsity soccer team came out as champions against Aragon, with 6-0 victory.
After a difficult loss against Woodside, the Scots were determined to defeat their opponents. “We got off to a really good start, after a not so good game against Woodside,” expressed player Justin Quan.
In the first half, Danny Mata, Justin Harpster, and Nick Monteiro scored goals. And in the second half Justin Harpster scored once more, with two extra goals by Luke Petersen and Andrew Durlofsky.
“We dominated. We won the balls in the air, went in hard on every play, and came out with a win,” gushed Durlofsky.
Whatever their motivation was, these boys were prepared and determined to win, and become a strong competition against next week’s games against Menlo-Atherton and Sequoia High School.
“It was great to see the beautiful chemistry that we had going on. It was truly an amazing game,” glorified Durlofsky.
Boys’ varsity soccer will play against Half Moon Bay on Jan. 25.
