Cartoon: Feeding the dead fish

Meta, formerly Facebook, has already poured billions of dollars in research and development into its virtual reality technology, with Mark Zuckerberg’s continued enthusiasm about the new narrative of his company. But numerous promotions and showcases of Horizon Worlds, Meta’s virtual world, show that it is far from rivaling reality or even the likes of VRChat and Second Life. Meta has shockingly little to show for its pursuits, considering how much it has invested thus far, eroding the faith of investors and the general populace alike. (Andrew Shu)
