How much will prom cost the average high schooler? The average teen spends about $1,000 on prom, including tickets, prom dresses, tuxes, proposals, corsages, transportation, and more. However, there are ways to keep prom costs down, such as shopping for discounts, borrowing or renting clothing, and doing your own hair and makeup. It is important to remember that prom is only one night and to keep things in perspective and not overspend. (Emma Yin)
