Ezzrah released the EP “Unification” that expresses their interpretation of daily struggles, love, and unification through reggae.
Each song on the EP has a unique style, but all have the same relaxed tone and original reggae feel.
“‘Unification’ has a really good tune to it, everything the EP flows nicely together. Also, the singer has a very powerful voice. Overall, it is a really good composition of music,” said sophomore Natalie Stainton.
Many fans, both the old and new, enjoy the album equally, including those that don’t usually like reggae music.
“I love the reggae feel it has. It flows very nicely. It’s really easy to listen to. The singer’s voice has a slight rasp that really adds to the character of the songs,” said sophomore Melody Shanahan.
Every song flows into the next easily allowing listeners to sit back, relax and enjoy the music.
The song “Hard for Me,” the best on the EP, starts off the album with a positive and fun beat that attracts listeners. Every song following also provides beach vibes and relatable topics.
The songs have a lot of feelings that pertain to love and the emotional aspects of daily life. Reggae fans can come together to enjoy this music.
Even though the band lacks popularity, they still provide music that is appreciated by their listeners and is sure to build a fan base.
The band will be participating in a Battle of the Bands competition on March 19, 2014 in Long Beach, Calif., which will allow them to promote their new EP in places other than iTunes.
“I love to listen to the album when I am in my convertible. It adds to each song, allowing me to enjoy the album at its maximum capacity,” said senior Charlotte Jackman.
Their music exceeds expectations and is as high quality as the majority of the top songs and albums in the reggae genre.
All aspects of the album including the vocals, lyrics, and instrumentals add to the quality of the album, attracting new listeners.
The no worries feel of the album allows many people on the coast to enjoy the music. For the people who don’t live close to the beach, the EP gives the illusion and the vibe of the beach and expresses an easy-going, no worry attitude.
